The sucking section of the 18+ months pacified is solid and filled. This reduces the sucking stimulus, which is the first step towards weaning a child off pacifiers. Unfortunately, no pacifier is resistant to biting. This also applies for the 18+ months pacifier. Biting can cause dangerous situations to arise. In the event of biting, we advise weaning your child off pacifiers. Teething toys can offer a solution. If you still want to continue using a pacifier, it can be helpful to switch over to the 12+ months pacifier. The 12+ months pacifier can encourage some children to bite or grind their teeth less. The silicone section of the 12+ months pacifier is part filled and therefore, softer. NB: we only recommend changing to the 12+ months pacifier if your child has not previously bitten through this pacifier. If this did happen, we recommend weaning your child off pacifiers immediately. The Give Up Your Pacifier book can be a useful resource for this.
