Difrax offers two types of butterfly shaped pacifiers: the Natural and the Dental pacifier.
The Difrax Natural pacifier has a flat base and a round, oval-shaped silicone nipple, which we call symmetrical. This pacifier is often well-accepted, especially by babies who are breastfed. It is also suitable for babies who like to rotate the pacifier in their mouth. The pacifier remains symmetrical no matter how it is placed in the mouth.
The Difrax Dental pacifier also has a flat base, but the end of the nipple has a flat side that provides more grip for the tongue during sucking. The Dental pacifier promotes the development of the palate as well as the tongue and jaw muscles. The convex part of the nipple rests against the palate, while the flat part presses against the tongue. This pacifier is ideal for babies who need this stimulation or if the Natural pacifier is not well accepted.
Every child has their own pacifier preference, and both types are equally suitable. Depending on your child’s preference, you can choose between the Natural or Dental pacifier. If you are unsure of your child’s preference, we recommend starting with the Natural variant.
