No, in the Netherlands, the protocol changed a few years ago. Baby bottles and teats no longer need to be sterilized but must be properly cleaned. It's sufficient to clean them in the dishwasher. First, brush the threads to remove any leftover proteins, as they can coagulate at 40 degrees and potentially damage the bottle.
You can also clean the bottles by hand. First rinse with cold water, then wash with washing-up liquid, hot water and a brush. Dry all parts thoroughly. If you still wish to sterilise the bottles, please follow the instructions in the product manual.
If you choose to boil the bottles, always do so correctly to prevent damage.
Clean the bottles and parts thoroughly beforehand using cold water. Place them fully submerged in a large pan, making sure they do not touch the bottom or sides of the pan.
Glass bottles must always be placed in cold water, after which the water should be brought slowly to a boil.
For the first time boiling, we recommend a maximum of 5 minutes. For subsequent times, a maximum of 3 minutes.
Carefully remove the bottles and parts from the water and allow them to air-dry on a clean surface.
