A bottle teat is made of silicone and can become damaged due to frequent use and cleaning or can dry out due to milk residues or saliva. Some babies may also bite and damage the teat. Therefore, Difrax advises replacing a bottle teat every six weeks.
Check the bottle teat for damage before each use by gently pulling on the nipple. If the teat is damaged, discard it.
