If a bottle or part of your bottle is deformed or melted, it is almost always due to improper cleaning or sterilization. This can occur from boiling for too long in a pot, using too high a wattage in the microwave, or not enough water during sterilization. Additionally, a part may have come into contact with the edge of a hot pan, causing damage.
The guidelines for sterilizing our bottles are as follows:
- Microwave
- 500 WATT: 7 minutes
- 700 WATT: 6 minutes
- 800 WATT: 5 minutes
- 1000 WATT: not suitable
- Sterilize with boiling water in a pot
The first time, boil for a maximum of five minutes, and then a maximum of three minutes each subsequent time.
For your information: according to current protocols in the Netherlands, boiling baby bottles is no longer necessary, although it is still allowed if preferred.
