My bottle sprays milk. What can I do about it?

Sometimes, the milk/formula sprays out in a stream instead of dripping smoothly.

There is a handy trick to stop this from happening:

1. Hold the bottle upright.
2. Press the bottle nipple down with your finger.
3. Turn the bottle upside down so that the nipple fills with milk.
4. Then, remove your finger. The spraying should stop!

The spraying of the bottle is caused by pressure that has built up inside the bottle, for example, due to heating. By using the above trick, you can quickly release this pressure. In some cases, it also helps to let the bottle sit for a moment without the nipple, so the excess pressure and heat can escape.
